Introducing Workplace 2.0 and Two Free Events!
Workplace 2.0, Vol. 1, E. 1: January Workshop & Bookclub
Hello there. First, I want to thank everyone for being here and shifting over from Ask Holly How. As part of the transition to Pyramid, I want to introduce a new column that will come to you on Thursdays: Workplace 2.0. This column will offer you more concrete advice around work, entrepreneurship, and leading in our current reality. To kick off this column, I want to invite you to two free events.
Book Club Returns!
In March, we will meet via Zoom to discuss our first book: Against the Machine by Paul Kingsnorth. Full disclosure, I haven’t read this yet and will be reading it alongside you. The Atlantic referred to it as “cranky,” so naturally I’m intrigued.
Location: Zoom
Date: Thursday, March 19th, 12 pm-1 pm ET - on the cusp of the Spring Equinox
RSVP: This is a free event; please email me to register. I will send out the Zoom link the week of the event.
Workplace 2.0: The Delta
January: What Are You Actually Measuring?
It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is sin.
This quote always gets me going. As we head into the new year, I’m hosting the first Workplace 2.0: The Delta workshop to help you clarify what you’ll actually measure in 2026. And most importantly, why!
We’ll go beyond the basics (revenue, followers, team size) to align your metrics with your specific purpose, values, and vision. Because if you’re measuring the wrong things, you’re optimizing for someone else’s definition of success.
What we’ll do together:
Audit what you’re currently measuring (explicitly and implicitly)
Identify gaps between what you say matters and what you’re tracking
Design 3-5 personalized metrics that reflect YOUR vision and values
Build accountability structures that support revelation, not perfection
I like to establish clear accountabilities in January and see where I land in December. It’s not about perfection. It’s about revealing what’s actually true.
Location: Zoom
Date: Thursday, January 29th, 12 pm-1 pm ET
What to bring: Whatever metrics you're currently tracking (revenue, hours, followers—anything) and honesty about what's really driving your decisions.
RSVP: This is a free event; please email me to register. I will send out the Zoom link the week of the event.
